  • Summer is here

Woot, I cannot believe everything that has happened my Sophmore year.  Let's try to list if off:
    1.  Several periods of studying after realizing that I had been getting high (off life) way too many times
    2.  Several orgasmic shows (including Maps and Atlases at Sub-Terannean, Halifax at the Metro, and RHCP)
    3.  Several things that I think occured this school year but probably didn't due to my crappy memory (was toaster's b day party over the summer?...)
    4.  Playing shows at big venues and other fun functions (Elbo Room, the Double Door, Piece, Payton Field Day, Northside Battle and Payton Battle (won both of them!), Congress, Lot 4,)
    5.  Throwing Katherine a snakes on a plane birthday party at my house (gooood times)
    6.  Going to Millenium park several times (That is one of the most beautiful parks in Chicago)
    7.  Looptopia (even though it was kind of overhyped)
    8.  And all of the highschool drama that occurs despite any circumstance of change

Wow, that isn't alot.  I am going to have to make up for that with a huuuuuuge summer plan.
Alright, hopefully I will see you guys soon.

    Bitches, bitches, bitches

School is terrorizing, not a day after finals and I was already dreading my report card.
I couldn't even look into the new semester with optimism as my misguided teachers gave me
that confused cold look of helplessness. Yes, you are a teacher. Yes, you do have control over that
little program under copyright of GradeQuick Inc. . No, rounding up from .5 isn't illegal.

In other news, we are approaching my annual gift giving ritual month where absolutely no gifts are bestowed
upon me and I am either prodded or force to sign up for yet another job where I don't work enough hours
to make the holes in my pockets any smaller.

In other's other news, Pan's Labrynth was a wonderful and imaginative movie. So imaginative, I didn't even listen
to my American ignorance complaining that the whole damn movie was in classic Spanish.

I abhor the night before friday,
a cold chaser to the free afternoon of seminars.

When all the children's heads, asleep in their beds
are visited with homework and remembered tests instead.

I hate highschool now, but I wonder what my life will depend on without structure
beyond the educational system that is the hell of my teenage life.

I think that's what a family is for, a dedication, because you've needed one all your life.

no great revelations, no sudden surprise.  this is a given fact, I surmise.

  •   umb teachers that can’t teach and grade even stricter because of it
dification from my aunt on the mood cycles of my parents and how I will be stuck with them until I turn 18
C   atastrophe that my parents create returning from Chicago, saying the house is only clean in my parallel universe
E    ating my heart out at Jimmy Johns after my parents tell me they are going to make me quit my band and stop seeing Kat if I don’t pull up my grades
M   aking the best out of a boring Saturday, while craftily managing not to resort to homework
B   ouleversement, the repeating cycle of my parent’s blaming and shouting at me
ternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, twice
R   emembering times when my family was disconnected, the reason why I didn’t know what aunt or uncle meant because of my isolation from them
I    nitiating a long term project, a novel/ballad with accompaniment about a dead beat bohemian touring across America
S   taring at the receipts in my pocket, realizing the reason why I’m poor (And the costly unofficial transactions that didn’t require receipts)
T   aking a moment to relax and wondering if my guitar and piano would get me through life unscathed by monetary dependency
S   inging Colin Meloy’s lyrics loudly with a sold out crowd at the riveria, swaying in the glow of the red lanterns on stage.  Realizing that the day had just been saved, the reason why I still have faith in the whimsical structure of my life.
